Information
The English Championship League consists of 24 teams and employs a double round-robin format (each team plays every other team twice, once at home and once away). In each match, the winner receives 3 points, the loser receives 0 points, and a draw earns both teams 1 point each. At the end of the season, teams are ranked based on their total points; in case of a tie in points, ranking is determined by goal difference and total goals scored. The top two teams in the Championship League are promoted directly to the Premier League. The remaining four teams ranked third through sixth will compete in a two-legged playoff system with home-and-away legs, where the third-place team faces the sixth-place team, and the fourth-place team faces the fifth-place team. A draw will determine which team hosts first. The semi-finals of the playoff will be played as two-legged home-and-away ties; if the aggregate score remains tied after both legs, extra time will be played, and in the event of another tie, penalty shootouts will decide the winner. The two winning teams will then face each other in a single-match playoff at a neutral venue to determine the champion, and the champion team will be promoted to the Premier League. Additionally, the bottom three teams in the Championship League will be relegated to League One.
